TACKLING THE UPS AND DOWNS IN A RELATIONSHIP

Every relationship has its own set of problems and solutions. The topic of tension between changes from relationship to relationship. Sometimes, the couple talks it out and solves it. It may take a few days or a few months for the problem to get solved, but eventually, they accept it and move on. Communication is one of the very important aspects for any relationship to work out.  If the two people in the relationship do not tell each other what’s bothering them or what they feel is not right, how will the other individual ever come to know?

Be it a professional relationship advisor or someone close to the couple, they are bound to advise them to talk openly about how they feel and what their views are. Persistent problems in a relationship may hint towards the falling apart of the relationship. It is an indication that a lot of things need to be worked on to make the relationship right. A couple may seek advice from a professional therapist, for couple therapy. A therapist will hear out both the parties non-judgementally and help them carve out a solution for the problem.

If it involves a family, or is the couple decides to part their ways, it is most of the times not taken well by the kids and the rest of the family members. They are obvious to leave a deep impact on their lives. They may have to go for family counselling in such matters. Other reasons why families usually go for family counselling could be sudden death of someone in the family, financial crisis or something else. A family counsellor will help the family cope with this issue and suggest ways to come out of it.

Sometimes, a fight or a situation can be so gruesome that both or one of the individuals cannot let go of it. That is when they need the help of a relationship advisor who may be a friend close to the family, a family member or a professional who is trained to deal with couples’ issues on a daily basis. This relationship advisor’s main aim is to first...
