HOW CHILDHOOD SCARS AFFECT ADULTHOOD

We all face different types of problems in our life. These can be problems in different areas in our lives. It could be our work, our family, our love life, relationship with our friends, career related or something else. Nobody is totally happy and without problems in life. But we have been bestowed with the ability to face these situations and find a solution for these problems on day to day basis. This is how life works after all. We face a problem, we tackle it and then we move forward to the next one waiting for us. Cycle of life as some people like to call it. But sometimes, due to some reasons, we may not be able to cope up with those problems. Nothing we do seems to work out or seems to ease the situation. This in turn leads to a lot of mental stress for an individual. There are many instances when one might seek help from people close to them. But if even that doesn’t seem to help, then maybe seeing a counselling psychologist might.

In today’s world that moves forward so fast, we do not pay attention to people around us. Ever one is fighting their own battles. Many a times it so happens that people around us wear a mask of happiness around, so that no body knows what is going on in their minds. These people are the ones who need all kind of support that we can give, so that it becomes easy for them to fight their pain. As we move forward, as on society, it becomes all the more important for us to note the amount of increase in the number of people who suffer from different kinds of mental and emotional ailments, sometimes, the ones that they might not even be aware of themselves.

Studies have shown, that it is not just the adults who suffer from mental conditions. Kids today too seem to go through many kinds of difficulties in their lives that they may not talk about. Child psychologist suggests ever growing competition to stay on top academically, peer pressure to do certain things, or sometimes issues within the family or with the parents, all make a deep impact on a child’s mind. It is important to remember that a child’s mind is like soft clay. It takes shape the way we give it a form. Therefore, any such kind of inconvenience on their minds, is bound to leave a deep impact on them mentally and emotionally. The rates of adults facing issues in their lives due to something in their childhood or because of an abusive childhood, is quite high today. It is hence, important for parents to remember that they may want to correct the mistakes of their children so that they never repeat it, but they should be careful to not scar their children, mentally, for lives. For it affects their relationships in future too.

As a parent or a guardian to a child, it is important that you pay close attention to your child’s behaviour. They might be facing problems that they aren’t comfortable sharing with you. They might need child therapy too. So, make sure you maintain an environment in the house that makes it ease for the child to approach you and share anything with you.

MENDING AND HEALING RELAITONSHIPS

There is no relationship in the world that does not face problems between the two people. When we talk about a relationship, we have to keep in mind that we are talking about two different individuals coming together to form a beautiful bond of love. Two people with different ideologies and different thinking striving to be accommodating of each other’s needs and maintaining a balance in their own. This system of accommodating and acceptance is going to have a little bit of friction leading to minor fights. But what is important, is how the two people make up after the fight and whether they accept and move on from the incident. Sometimes, a fight or a situation can be so gruesome that both or one of the individuals cannot let go of it. That is when they need the help of a relationship advisor who may be a friend close to the family, a family member or a professional who is trained to deal with couples’ issues on a daily basis. This relationship advisor’s main aim is to first...

Gradually, you feel better and you start living normally again. But what if, this sadness never goes away? What if, you keep feeling sad, and not knowing what is making you sad makes it worse? If these are some of the things that you feel, or know someone who feels this way, then it might be a sign of depression. Depression can happen to anybody.
