Emails,
meetings, Con calls, Presentations, Conferences… They seem to get a little
overbearing at times, but we have still left out the largest demon of the
workplace – DEADLINES. So, as you are busy checking all of the accumulated
emails, you realize that even a 24-hour day will not be enough to finish off
everything that is on your plate. You just shut out that senior telling you
about something new that is due by the end of the day. You are starting to zone
out and almost believe that there is no way you’re going to be able to finish
the day’s work. The anxiety of not meeting deadlines further decreases your
efficiency and you start feeling the pressure, building on. Eventually, you
keep beating yourself down for not completing your work and start doubting your
self-worth. All of this adversely affects your performance which in turn leads
to feeling dejected. It is a vicious cycle. Once you fall trap to it there is
no getting out, which is why organizations should start thinking about holding group therapy
activities.
Stress
at work has never been taken seriously. People usually term it as “struggle”.
Mostly taken for granted, everybody is expected to “struggle” to achieve great
heights, but somebody’s struggle could be another one’s sense of failure. How
can we possibly measure something that is so subjective? How can we compare two
human beings' capabilities and the way they perceive things? Some may crack
under pressure while some may blossom. It is high time companies understand
this. Every human differs and with them, differs their thinking process. If the
top-level management is already aware that there is immense work pressure and
employees are finding it tough to cope, it is their moral duty to conduct stress management therapy and group
therapy activities. Well-being of their employees should always hold utmost
importance.
A
lot of times the stress of the workplace can lead to an awry relationship at
home. When the work life balance does not remain, families can tend to get
upset at times. A person can get really beaten down by all this. It gets tough
to deal with work as well as family stress and it could result in a person
succumbing to depression. In times like these employers must look at group therapy for
depression. It is a double whammy for the organization as employees start
valuing the firm more and their productivity also increases once they are on
the path to betterment.
Stress
can be your biggest enemy when you want to achieve goals. Deadlines usually
feel like a sword hanging over your head. At a time like this stress management
therapy can teach you how to set short term goals and then move on to long term
goals. For an employer, his or her employees should be the priority. For if
they are treated well, they will work for you like it is their own firm and
profits will only grow. Therefore, if employees are not performing, it is
essential to understand the reason behind it and hold group therapy for
depression if need be.
