Therapists have a myriad of different depression management techniques that they have used over the years like antidepressants, cognitive behavioural therapy, relaxation techniques or other wellness treatments. However, a lot of people, including therapists have wondered for the longest time whether group therapy helps or hinders the treatment for depression.

At first, most people are cynical about group therapy to treat depression as the anxiety of sitting amongst strangers and sharing experiences can be intimidating and as most people believe, might make their condition worse. However, as opposed to common beliefs, group therapy has several advantages. Here are a few:
